He was the husband of Evelyn (Rau) Moser Abel, and the late Valentina (Palencar) Abel.


Asher was a son of the late Asher and Belva (Steckel) Abel.


He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War.


Asher Abel, Jr. Asher C. Abel, Jr, 80, of Pennsburg, passed away April 2, 2013. He was the husband of Evelyn (Rau) Moser Abel, and the late Valentina (Palencar) Abel. Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Asher and Belva (Steckel) Abel. He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. Asher was a pattern designer for B&K Upholstery, Boyertown for over 15 years before retiring. Prior to that, he was employed at Knoll International, East Greenville. He was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, and the American Legion, Palm. Asher enjoyed collecting coins and antique kerosene lamps. He played the violin. Surviving with his wife, is a daughter, Melissa Hoffert, of Stowe; step-children: Bruce Marks, and his wife, Bonnie, of Barto; Kim Marks, and his wife, Gwen , of Shelby, NC; Paul Moser, and his wife Charlotte, of Zionsville; Robert Moser of Coopersburg; John Moser, of California; Evelyn, wife of Kenneth Press, of Macungie; Arlene, wife of Kenneth Holmes, of Texas; Emily, wife of Brian Barger, of Zionsville; and Lois Moser, of Indiana; a sister, Joyce Armbuster, of Northampton; 16 step-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a step grandchild, Matthew Marks. Services will be at 11 AM on Saturday at Pennsburg UCC, 775 Main Street, Pennsburg. A viewing will be from 9-11 AM on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
