Darlington- Dale Merriam, 68, died Saturday (Aug. 8, 1970) in a Darlington hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Darlington and farmed there all his life. He married Wanda Staver July 19, 1925. He was a director of the Swiss and Limburger Cheese Assn., and the Lafayette County Creamery Assn. He was a member of the Darlington Baptist Church, and the Darlington Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Miss Judy Merriam, Madison; Mrs. Gerald Wodke, Milwaukee; Mrs. Gerald Lee, River Falls; and Mrs. Dennis Dorow, Wisconsin Dells; three sons, Paul, Wilfred, and Ralph, all of Darlington; three sisters, Mrs. Nathan Benedict and Mrs. Byron Paynter, both of Darlington and Mrs. Glen Dye, Wayzata, Minn.; and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday in the church. Friends may call after 2 pm Monday at the Sharer Funeral Home, Darlington, where masonic services will be held at 9 pm.
