Floyd Maurice Filson, 82, of Birmingham died on October 3, 2004 at Jefferson County Hospital. He was a retired meat cutter. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Behner Funeral Home with Rev. Peggy Egbert officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham. He was born on June 29, 1922 in Birmingham, the son of Earl Maurice and Hazel Belle (Carl) Filson. He married Irene Mae Hartley on August 11, 1951 in Eldon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Lucille Taylor and Ida Mae McGreer; and an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Irene; his children, Sandy Nelson of Fairfield, Judy Nicholson of Batavia, Mike Filson of Birmingham, and Gary Filson of Stockport; his sisters, Esther Cunningham of Keosauqua and Ruth Carter of Douds; his brothers, Raymond Filson and Van Filson, both of Birmingham; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
