He was born Oct. 18, 1924, in Davidson County, a son of Silas Singleton and Mamie Shuler Kimsey, who preceded him in death.
He served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army during World War II and was later employed with the Town of Jamestown.
Surviving are two sisters, Silene Baker of Valdosta, Ga., and Blanche Nicholson and her husband, Eugene, of Julian; two brothers, Harold Kimsey and his wife, Lou, of Oak Ridge and James Kimsey and his wife, Peggy, of High Point.
Private graveside services will be held in Greensboro. Cumby Family Funeral Service, High Point, is handling arrangements.
