Loretta Jorgensen, 81, of North Loup passed away Tuesday, April 02, 2013, at the Bryan LGH West Medical Center in Lincoln.
Mrs. Jorgensen's wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 05, 2013, at the Ord Memorial Chapel with Pastor Bruce Phillips officiating. A private inurnment will be in the Hillside Cemetery at North Loup . Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Loretta was born June 2, 1931, near North Loup, Nebraska to Stanley and Hattie (Stine) Brown. She was raised in North Loup where she received her education and graduated from North Loup High School in 1948.
On June 24, 1948, Loretta was united in marriage to Grover D. Jorgensen at Rockwell City, Iowa. The couple made their home in North Loup. Loretta was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren. Mr. Jorgensen passed away March 21, 2010. Loretta continued to live in North Loup and spent the last year at the Cottonwood Assisting Living Center in Central City.
She attended the North Loup United Methodist Church and belonged to the Red Hats. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. She will be remembered by her delicious potato salad.
Survivors include two daughters and two sons-in-law, Marlene and Jack Lee of Central City and Janis and Gary Theiler of Lincoln; a son, Daryl Jorgensen of North Loup and his friend, Patty Soneson of Ord; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jay and Brenda Lee, Monte Young, Tami and Scott Parsons and Jesse and Janine Theiler; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Delpha Edwards of North Loup and a brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Doris Brown of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Grover; a granddaughter, Janis Lee; two brothers, Gale and George Brown and a sister, Gerry Hochreiter.
