Benton Boles Gilleece
Benton Boles Gilleece, 83, a native Kansan and father of Frank Gilleece, Kansas boxing commissioner, died Sunday night at his home, 1203 West Sixteenth.
Mr. Gilleese was born in Leavenworth county, September 17, 1855. He moved to Jackson county where he engaged in the mercantile and contracting business, and moved to Topeka about thirty years ago. Mr. Gilleece was one of the oldest residents of Kansas, having been born before Kansas was admitted to statehood.
Besides his son, Mr. Gilleece is survived by his widow, of the home address.
The body was taken to the Wall-Diffenderfer mortuary. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
