Eva married Edward M. Leete on October 15, 1879. Eva's parents were E. Chapman Bishop and his wife Charlotte G. (Fowler). Eva was said to be one of the first collectors of antiques in the country. She furnished the Connecticut exhibition at the World's Fair in Chicago in 1893, after which she sold those furnishings and dishes to the state government, which then used them for the State exhibition at the Louisiana Purchase Exhibition in St. Louis in 1904. In 1907 she completely furnished the two-story house that was Connecticut's exhibit at the Jamestown Exposition.
