He was born February 5, 1921 in the Town of Friendship the son of John and Fona Rosenthal Abraham. He farmed in the Town for many years.
On February 23, 1952 he married Marilyn Wirtz. They enjoyed and had 58 wonderful years together.
Besides farming, Bob took over the Duck guiding business from his father on Long Point Island in Lake Winnebago. He made many friends and enjoyed and meeting some famous people and sports figures. He always had a good story to tell about his hunting and fishing experiences, after he was too old to guide he enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching the activities on Lake Winnebago.
He is survived by his sister in law, Jo Ann Siebert of Neenah , many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife Marilyn in September 2010. His parents, his sisters and brothers in law, Erna and Rufus Barthals, Helen (Tootie) and Erv Zentner, Dorothy and Lester Baker. Brother and sister in law Melvin and Jean Abraham. His niece Nancy and nephew Ken Barthals and Brother in law Arnold Siebert.
Funeral services for Jake will be Wednesday March 27, 2013 at 2pm in the First English Lutheran Church, the Rev Martin Ruge officiating.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Church Wednesday from 11am until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers a Memorial has been established to the Van Dyne Lions Club and First English Lutheran Church.
