Harold Heath, 79, of Smithfield, died Jan. 7, 2011. After a courageous battle with cancer, Harold is at peace. Harold was valedictorian for the class of 1949 at Green River High School. He then served two years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and also served 17 years in the National Guard.
Harold earned a degree in electronics at the University of Utah. He was a radar technician at Hill Air Force Base for 24 years where he worked on first article equipment for engineering. After retiring from this career, he went on to work at Icon Health and Fitness as an electronic technician for 13 years. He was our family's "energizer bunny," and always stayed busy. Harold was a man of great character. His quiet strength, tenacity, and spunk inspired all who knew him. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Terry Heath; his children, Larry, Terry, Mary, Gary, and Sherry; and stepchildren, David Shingleton, Cecelia Doty, Sally McCartney, Tamra Hallmark, Dawn Carrigan; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Jan. 14, at 9:30 a.m. at the LDS 17th Ward Chapel, located at 345 E. 300 South, Smithfield, Utah. The funeral service will follow the viewing at 11 a.m. at the same location. ...
