Ace Tatum Acrey, 82, born in Coleman, Texas, on Sept. 25, 1926, passed away on Oct. 15, 2008, in Pueblo, Colo. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Ray Acrey; mother, Fannie May Acrey (Akins); and sister, Carey Pirtle; grandparents, Carey Akins and James H. Akins. He is survived by his wife, Vada Acrey; stepchildren, Jim (Marsha) Carter, Wylie Carter, Lisa (Lee) Watson; grandchildren, Melanie (Mickey) Kavanaugh, Andrea Carter, Nathaniel Rogers, Ashleigh Rogers; great-grandchildren, Levi Kavanaugh and Ella Kavanaugh; brothers, Jack Acrey, Glen (Elsie) Acrey, Bill (Katrina) Acrey, Raymond (Dorothy) Acrey, Robert (Sylvia) Acrey; sister, Patsy Evans; numerous nieces and nephews. Ace served in WWII in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Parkhill Baptist Church. Viewing, 2 to 7 p.m. today, T.G. McCarthy Funeral Home.
