Dorothy Marie Adams, 92, of Buffalo, IA; died Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Davenport. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 am until the service at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Memorials may be made to Buffalo Fire Department, Buffalo Historical Society or Calvary Lutheran Church in Buffalo, IA. Dorothy, a life-long resident of Buffalo, was born October 3, 1920 in Buffalo, IA; the daughter of Walter and Lelia (Bald) Pagel. She was united in marriage to Lewis M. Adams on February 19, 1944 in Ft. Monmouth, NJ; he preceded her in death on June 25, 1998.

She enjoyed gardening and crafts. Her memberships included: Calvary Lutheran Church, Buffalo Fireman's Auxiliary, Genesis Auxiliary, Buffalo Historical Society (which she founded) and the Scott County Genealogical and Historical Societies. She served as the last secretary of Buffalo Independent School District #1, retiring when it merged with the Davenport Community School System in 1966. She retired as deputy City Clerk of Buffalo in 1980.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Nancy (Ralph) Stalder, rural Blue Grass, IA; son, Terry (Brenda) Adams, Buffalo, IA; six grandchildren: twelve great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Vera Pagel, Red Wing, MN.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and a great granddaughter.
