Belle moved with her family to Shrewsbury in the 1930's from Detroit, Michigan. She was a Brownie Scout Leader for many years and active in various town affairs. During the 30's, 40's and 50's she taught kindergarten at the First Baptist Church in Worcester. She is lovingly remembered there for all her devotion and contributions to the life of the church.
Belle was known for her "Southern" hospitality and cooking. She was an accomplished seamstress, making most of the family clothing. She loved reading aloud to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her beautiful spirit was never diminished even during the twilight of her life at the Shrewsbury Nursing Home.
