He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sherman and Florence E. Tingle Whitaker; four brothers, Norman, Walton, Floyd and Willie Whitaker; sister, Mabel Roberts, and three grandchildren.He is survived by his daughter, LaVerne Larsen of Interlachen; sister, Erby E. Adams of Vevay, Ind.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Friday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, Ind., with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating.
