Hugh Alexander Park's parents are unknown. Via DNA evidence he probably belonged to a large Park clan in New Jersey, tracing back to an Alexander Park born in early 1700's.Alexander and family moved to Pickens/Tuscaloosa County in the mid 1840's.
He was drafted into the 3rd Alabama Reserves, CSA, Senior Division in August 1864. He was ill, home on furlough, and died at home Octoer 1864.
He rests by the grave of his 9 year old daughter, Betsy Ann
His wife and some other family members were buried in a newly developed cemetery at Romulus Methodist Church.
