ROBERT LOIS TRENT


Robert L. Trent, 67, of Route 1, Rutledge, Missouri passed away at his home December 5, 1989. The son of Garland and Laura Witt Trent, he was born April 26, 1922 at Rutledge, Mo.


On July 27, 1947, at Unionville, Mo., he married Eileen Mumford.


He is survived by his wife, Eileen ; two daughters, Merlene Trent of Kirksville and Mrs. Tom (Rolene) Jones of Rutledge,

Note: Mo.; one brother, Franklin and his wife Thelma of Cicero, Illinois; three sisters, Mrs. Weldon (Mona) Tague of Gorin, Mrs. Richard (Norma) Burrus of Baring, and Mrs. Wayne (Lola) Mumford of Rutledge; and three grandchildren, Tonya Jones, Teena Jones and T.J. Jones, and 11 nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Leta Marie Trent.


Mr. Trent was a life long resident of Scotland and Knox

Note: Counties, and graduated from Gorin High School. During his earlier years, he was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. He was engaged in farming in the Colony community and also had been employed by the Knox City Lumber Co. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 thru 1945. He was a member of the Rutledge congregation of Jehovah Witness and also served as an Elder.


Funeral services were held December 8, 1989 in the Hudson Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Mo. with Bro. David Pfister. Music was provided by Kay Hintz and Gale Layton, organist. Burial was in the Colony Cemetery, Colony, Mo. Casket bearers were Rex Winn, Donald Burrus, Danny Burrus, Monty Mumford, Terry Trent, and Bill Gorrell.
