Harold "Hap" Ellis Adams, 81, formerly of Osgood, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, at St. Andrews Health Campus on Batesville, IN.

Mr. Adams was born December 5, 1931, in Campbellsburg, KY, the son of Francis and Mattie Myrtle Burnett Adams. He married Carolyn Sue Davis January 29, 1956. She preceded him in death September 15, 2006.

"Hap" was an Army veteran of the Korean War and had worked for Neal's Ford Agency of Osgood and at Jefferson Proving Grounds as a heavy equipment mechanic.

He was a member of New Testament Christian Church of Osgood, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Osgood Masonic Lodge, and Osgood American Legion. He was a former NRA member.

He is survived by sons, Jeffrey D. and wife Kathleen Adams of Columbus, IN, Roger W. and wife Tammy Adams of North Vernon, IN, and James D. and wife Christine Adams of Osgood, IN; daughters, Carolyn Lorri and husband Robert Carpenter of Osgood, IN, and Kristi D. and husband Robert Lyall of Bear, DE; a brother, John Owen Adams of Crestwood, KY; sisters, Martha Joyce Louden of Shelbyville, KY, and Wilma Louise Skinner of Greenfield, IN; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood, with calling from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Burial will be at Center Christian Church Cemetery in Mays.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home, 306 S. Walnut St., Osgood, IN 47037, to New Testament Christian Church, the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
