Johnnie Faye Manry, born Aug. 3, 1940, was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher and friend. A lifetime servant of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she was a native of Littlefield, Texas, and a resident of Natchitoches for many years. She died Thursday morning, Dec. 30, 2004, at her young age of 64, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Baton Rouge, after a lengthy illness. She was a pre-kindergarten school teacher for First Assembly Christian Academy in Natchitoches. She also served as the children's pastor for Oasis of Love Fellowship Church, formerly First Assembly of God, in Natchitoches from 1980-1995. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Alton Manry; and five children, Tina Manry, Jeff Manry, Dale Manry, Tami Manry Self and Tommy Manry; five sisters; Flora Dee Cole, Billie Baker, Maxine Brown, June Pickett and Joyce Nevinger, all from Texas. She was grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Nissa, Darla, Waylon, Caitlyn, Rebecca, Abbigail, Josiah, Gabriel, Ezekiel, Robert, Jon-Thomas, David, Christina and Autumn. She is survived by three great-grandchildren, Sharise, Merissa and Amber; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday (on their 46th anniversary). Visitation at the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, until funeral service at 10 a.m., conducted by Sister Frances Allen.
