She attended James Madison University and the University of Virginia and for 21 years was the co-owner of the Town and Country Shop. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church.
She served on the board of the Retail Merchants Association, the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce, and the Virginia National Bank (now Bank of America).
Surviving her are a brother, Colonel Lawrence Peyton Harris; and six nieces and nephews, Paulina Anderson Harris, Evelyn Christina Maschue, George Newman Harris III, Lawrence Peyton Harris Jr., Shelley Follansbee Harris, and Gibbs Fitzgerald Harris; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great - nieces and nephews.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006, at the Maplewood Cemetery with the Reverend Jeffrey Fishwick officiating.
