Robert Minor Updike married Martha A. Murray on December 29, 1904.
From "The Free Press", Trumansburg, NY, Friday, December 10, 1948:
"Robert Minor Updike, 68, died at his home in the Town of Enfield, Thursday, December 9, 1948, after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Updike; a son Minor R. Updike; four daughters, Mrs. Nellie Hubbell and Mrs. Elsie Browning, all of the town of Enfield, Mrs. Bera Williams of Waterburg and Mrs. Dorothy McCarty of Montour Falls; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Clark and Mrs. Clarissa Steenburg of Trumansburg, and Mrs. Bessie Miller of the Town of Enfield, fourteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Stewarat-Rhode Funeral Home, at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Charles W. Ackley of the Mecklenburg Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Grove cemetery."
