Woodstock Boy Paints President's Portrait.
A painting of President Roosevelt on his favorite horse has created a great deal of favorable comment in Washington art circles. The President expressed himself as delighted with the canvass. The Artist was B. West Clinedinst, a native of Woodstock, but now of New York. Mr. Clinedinst has an international reputation in the field of art.

Visitors, Mr. Wendell W. Clinedinst and Mrs. H. C. Elling of New York, son and daughter of Mr. B. West Clinedinst, famous New York artist, spent several hours in Woodstock this week while on a motor trip to Lexington, where a painting by Mr. B. West Clinedinst was unveiled at Virginia Military Institute where Mr. Clinedinst graduated many years ago...a mural 13 ¼ x 17 feet, depicting the Board of Visitors meeting to consider the rebuilding of Virginia Military Institute after the destruction during the war between the states, Mr. Clinedinst has completed the study, which is 41x50 inches just two weeks before his death, the study was presented to V. M. I. by the widow of Mr. B. West Clinedinst…The above party visited at Schmitt’s Drug Store, of which store they had frequently heard the distinguished father speak, and Mr. J. H. Grabill, a friend of their father, who knew him when a boy, living at the old Clinedinst home in Woodstock on North Main street, corner of Foundry street, now owned by Mrs. Courtney Calvert.
