Sawyer, KS~ Leonard Laverne Kessler, died Sunday, March 31, 2013 at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt, KS. He was born January 10, 1928, at Sawyer, KS, the son of Raymond and Minnie (Flory) Kessler. On September 22, 1951 he married Ruby Riffey at her home.
Leonard was a member of the Old German Baptist Brethren in Sawyer, KS. He was a farmer and carpenter.
He is survived by two sons, Merlin (Rhonda) Kessler and Ronnie (Nadine) Kessler of Sawyer, two sisters, Naomi Stamy of Sawyer and Opal (Roland) Boone of Quinter, KS, nine grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2nd from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House at Sawyer. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery next to the church.
