Born Jan. 10, 1924 in Hondo, Gertie was the daughter of Robert and Nettie (Pichot) Koch.
She was a former waitress and bookkeeper.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Loy "Slim" Hester and Preston Floyd Moebius; sister, Evelyn Lucille Highsmith; brothers, Floyd Francis Koch, Robert John "R.J," Koch, and Ira Roy Koch.
She is survived daughters, Betty Patterson and husband Harley of Depew, OK and Dorothy Carter of Hondo; six grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Kate Highsmith of Hondo; brothers, Donald Koch of Abilene and Charles "Beaner" Koch of Ballinger.
