RICHFIELD MAN SUCCUMBS TO HEART FAILURE
Sudden Demise of Henry Hendricksen Schock to His Many Friends
WAS WELL KNOWN AND HIGHLY RESPECTED
Funeral Services Will Be Held on Monday Afternoon at the Third Ward Meeting House
Death has again issued its unwelcome mandate and again with no warning when the dark angel called Henry Hendricksen at his home on Tuesday evening. He had been in his customary health and had eaten a hearty dinner. He was preparing to accompany his wife to the ward choir practice, and was feeling in excellent spirits. About 5:30 he lay down on a couch and without warning he expired.
His arm had dropped over the edge of the couch and his little daughter took hold of his hand, thinking her father was asleep. When she discovered what had happened she summoned her mother and then a physician was called, but death had set his seal and Henry Hendricksen had been called home. The blow had fallen like a bolt from a clear sky.
He had had a severe attack of grippe in February, but it was thought that all effects of this had passed away. The physician gave it as his opinion that death was caused by heart failure and paralysis following the ravages of grippe on Mr. Hendricksen's vitality.
Decedent was born in Ephraim 53 years ago, but had spent practically all his life in Glenwood as his parents were among the first settlers, of that town. He was married 18 years ago to Elizabeth Short of Glenwood, and from this marriage three children were born, Alden, aged 17; Marcella, aged 15; and Charles Von, aged 13. He leaves 7 brothers and four sisters, Joseph Hendricksen, of Idaho; Chris Hendricksen of Venice; William Hendricksen of Richfield; Peter, John, Hyrum, Clayborn, Mrs. John Nielsen and Mrs. James Johnson of Glenwood, Mrs. John Pierce of New Mexico, and Mrs. Joseph Peterson of Idaho.
Mr. Hendricksen was well known and highly respected throughout Sevier County.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at the Third Ward Chapel.
