Alpha Mae Aaser, 90, of McVille, ND, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Nelson County Health System-Care Center in McVille.

Alpha was born June 6, 1922 near Pekin, ND the daughter of Adolph and Anna Marie (Thompson) Lysne. She grew up at the family farm south of McVille. Alpha graduated from Pekin High School and worked for a time in Fargo , ND before returning to the McVille area. She married Morris Aaser on June 3, 1945 after Morris returned from WWII, and they began farming on the Lysne family farm. They were married 67½ years. In 1977 they moved to their new home in McVille.

Alpha was a member of the Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. She was an active member in all church activities as well as an active Life Member of the McVille American Legion Auxiliary, Ole Semling Unit 135.

Alpha is survived by her sons, David (Bonnie), Pekin, ND and Don (Polly), Maple Grove, MN; 4 grandchildren, Karissa (Chad) Benoit, Melissa (Jim) Misialek, Katherine (Glenn) Potter, and Elizabeth Aaser; 5 great grandchildren; sisters Dagny Panyan and Mary Ann Hermanson; brother-in-law Martin Aaser; sisters-in-law Dorothy Aaser and Martha Aaser; and several nieces and nephews.

Alpha was preceded in death by her parents; husband Morris; and brother Paynee Lysne.

Memorial Services for Alpha will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Sheyenne Lutheran Church, rural Pekin, ND. Visitation will be one hour prior to services in the church. A spring interment will be in the Sheyenne Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Nelson County Health System, McVille, ND.
