Michiko Nakamura Betts, 81, Fruitland, passed away in a Payette nursing home March 28, 2013.
Michi was born Feb. 3, 1932 in Hood River, Oregon, to Harry and Masui Nakamura. The family moved to Ontario in 1945, where Michi attended Ontario High School, graduating in 1951.
She was an accountant at Tom Iseri Produce for 25 years. Michi was then employed at Ore-Ida Foods until her retirement in 1995.
She married Charles Duane Betts on May 26, 1988 in Reno, Nevada.
Michi is survived by her husband, Duane; four stepchildren: Jim, Cathy, Dan and Maggie; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brother, Paul Nakamura, of Hood River; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 27, at 1 p.m. at Country Kitchen Restaurant, in Ontario. A no-host lunch will be available.
