Robert Hutchison Williams, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on March 23, 2013 in Skilled Nursing Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.

He was born in Reading, Massachusetts, the son of Theodore and Annabel Williams.

Bob served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

He attended Cornell and Stockbridge Schools of Agriculture and graduated Summa Cum Lauda from Syracuse University with dual degrees in Journalism and Political Science.

Bob was the Editor of Pennsylvania Farm Magazine for thirty-two years.

He worked with the legislature in Harrisburg to preserve farmland and protect the waterways of Pennsylvania.

Bob served as a Hampden Township Supervisor where he established the police force and zoning laws.

He served on the Camp Hill Borough Council in the 70's and established the recreational area for sports in town.

Bob was a member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church.

In addition, he was a member of the American Agriculture Editors' Association, the Navy's Commissioned Officer's Mess, the West Shore Country Club, the Elks Club, and the Hampden Township Lions Club.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his two brothers: Thomas I. and Spencer M. Williams.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy "Penny" Williams and would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in September; his daughters: Betsy Miller and husband Bill of Mechanicsburg, Pamela Williams of Mt. Gretna, Linda Williams Baird and husband Miller of Annville; his son: Stephen R. Williams and wife Lisa of Mechanicsburg; his six grandchildren; and, his two great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service celebrating Bob's life will be held in Bethany Village Community Room Saturday, April 06, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.

Burial will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
