Nancy Anna Jaqua, of Corrales, NM, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. She was born on November 17, 1935, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was the daughter of John Arleigh and Nellmarie Huff and was raised in Alice, Texas before moving to Boerne, Texas.

In her early years in Boerne, she discovered her lifelong love of horses which was to become an important part of her family. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she performed with the Texas Stars. Nancy will be remembered for her love of animals, her talents as a seamstress, and as a teacher who taught her students not only classroom subjects but also the importance of honesty and accountability. By her example, she taught everyone around her the importance of "doing the right thing" and helping those who were in need.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Edwin S. Jaqua, with whom she was to celebrate 50 years of marriage on June 6, 2009, son David Arleigh Jaqua and his partner John Ellis Drewer, Jr. of Albuquerque, NM and Houston, TX, daughter Suzanne Marie Jaqua of Albuquerque, NM, brother Charles F. Huff and wife Mary of Los Alamos, NM, nephew John Huff and family of Jemez Springs, NM, niece Maria Gair and family of Centennial, Colorado, and cousins Nancy Smith of Camden, SC and Susan Teegardin of Dallas, TX.
