Barker Aide, Dies
BARKER - Clifford T. Barnum, 76, of 8686 Coleman Road, zoning officer and building Inspector for the Town of Somerset for several years, died Sunday at Lockport Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 20, 1895, in Waterport, he was the son of Arah C. and Kitty (Blake) Barnum.
A retired farmer, he had operated a farm on Lake Road, Town of Somerset for 52 years, also was a bus driver for Ridge Road Express for 20 years.
Mr. Barnum was a 52-year member of Somerset Lodge 639, F&AM, and of Faith United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Gladys Barnum; a daughter
and son, Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Ray of Barker and David
Barnum of Middleport; four grandchildren and a great grandchild; his stepmother, Mrs. Flora Barnum of Middleport
and several nieces and nephews.
Beginning today at 7 p.m., friends may call at the Hood Funeral Home, Barker, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Clifford E. Frost will officiate. Somerset Lodge F&AM will
hold memorial services at 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will be in Somerset Cemtery.
