A native of Bath-tp, Mr. Tharp was born Jan. 9, 1860, to Charles S. and Elizabeth Tharp.
He is survived by one son, C. Fred Tharp, 415 W. Spring-st, and three grandchildren, C. Fred, Jr., Mansfield, Thomas A. and Bettye Tharp, both at home. His wife preceded him in death.
Mr. Tharp was a member of the Borrowed Time club and the old Christian church here.
The body was taken to the Chiles and Son funeral home where services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. Rev. John Berger will officiate and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
