Mary Elizabeth Bayles, 87, of Bowling Green, died at 3:45 a.m. Oct. 11, 2010, at her residence.

The Kingsport, Tenn., native was a homemaker and a caregiver. She loved to travel, crochet and knit. She loved to drive, play cards and games. A strong Christian woman, she was saved in 1943. She showed her love of Jesus and let it be seen in her life to everyone. She was able to lead her children to Christ. She was a daughter of the late George Hurd and Lilla Killen Hurd and the wife of the late Barney E. Bayles.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hillvue Heights Church. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Spears and her husband, James, of Bowling Green; four sons, Robin Bayles and his wife, Sandra, of Manassas, Va., John Bayles and his wife, Karen, of Germantown, Md., Timothy Bayles and his wife, Kathy, of Houston, Texas, and David Bayles and his wife, Martha, of Bowling Green; a sister, Dorothy Lloyd and her husband, Charles, of Mount Dora, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several friends.
