Mary was one of several children born to Reuben and Mary Hill. Her date of birth has been documented as July 18, 1868 in some family files. She was married to James Bond in Dawson, Georgia in 1887. The couple had two children, Barney and Charles. James died in 1892 and Mary along with her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Mary met and married Joseph Stover in 1894. Mary contracted tuberculosis and died in 1901.
