STOKESDALE — Virginia Isley Aheron, 79, of Stokesdale, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Doctor Richard Odom and Reverend Roger Baricks officiating.

Mrs. Aheron retired from Sears Roebuck with 42 years service, was member of Summerfield First Baptist Church and was a member of Gideon's International Auxiliary. Virginia was a loving wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by parents, Edward Vernon Isley and Isabel Mosley Isley; brothers, Edward Vernon "E.V." Isley, Jr., and Carl Isley and sister, Nadine Isley Bates.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, John Robert Aheron, Sr.; sons, Johnny (Carolyn) Aheron, Daryl (Hsiao-Wei) Aheron and Steve (Beth Ann) Aheron; grandsons, Joey, Timmy and Justice; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray (Nancy) Isley and Jerry (Mary) Isley, Danny (Arlene) Isley; sisters, Shirley (Marvin) Pegram, Brenda (Jerry) Strader, Rachel (Kenneth) Wallace and Carolyn (Ken) Cayton and sister-in-law, Betty Isley.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Friday at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice .

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Spring Arbor and the staff of Moses Cone Hospital's ER, 3000, 3100 and Palliative Care units that attended her.

Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.
