Services will be Wednesday evening and Thursday for Edward E. Bingham who passed away In Santa Cruz on December 15, 2003. Born in Wisconsin, he was raised In Brainerd, Minnesota. He served his country during the WW II in the Merchant Marines and later moved to California in 1958 where he settled In Sunnyvale.


Spanning a career of more than 27 years with Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale as a supervisor, he retired to the Santa Cruz area in 1981. His family will forever remember his love for ocean fishing and his kind and giving spirit. He volunteered as a van driver for Dominican Hospital and made many friends there. Mr. Bingham was an active parishioner of St. Joseph's Catholic Church In Capltola and was a former member of S.I.R.S.


He Is survived by his son, Ron Bingham of Mt. Madonna Community in Watsonville and his daughter, Donna Hayes of Holllster. He also leaves his two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Miller of Sunnyvale; Virginia Elling of Minnesota; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.


Mr.Bingham was preceded In death by his loving wife, Marjorle Bingham on April 29, 1997. One of seven children, he was also preceded In death by four of his brothers and sisters.


Vigil services will be this evening, December 17, 2003 at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel (1050 Cayuga St. In Santa Cruz) beginning at 6 p.m. Friends may pay their respects at a viewing today (Wed.), from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Chapel. A graveside ceremony will be on Thursday, December 18, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Santa Cruz beginning at 10 a.m. The family prefers that remembrances be made to Dominican Hospital, 1555 Soquel Drive Santa Cruz, CA. 95065.
