Eddie Moses Tarpley, 70, of 2943, N. Main St., Danville, VA, died, Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Danville Regional Medical Center, Danville, VA.

Born October 16, 1942 in Pittsylvania County, VA, he was the son of the late Chippiwia Tarpley and Lucile Lipford Tarpley Wilson. He was married to Janice Farmer Tarpley, who survives.

In addition to his wife of the residence, survivors include five daughters, Clarnetta Tarpley, Natasha Edwards and Janica Motley all of Danville, VA, Gabrielle Tarpley of Charlotte, NC and Danielle Tarpley of St. Louis, MO; three sons, Barrinetta Tarpley (Rasheen) and Michael Motley both of Danville, VA and Robert Tarpley of PA; one sister, Emily Johnson (Allen) of Danville, VA; two brothers, Rev. William Henry Tarpley (Lena) and James Lee Tarpley (Marion) both of Chatham, VA; three grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one sister, Judy Mary Tarpley; four brothers, Scott Tarpley, John Tarpley, Clarence Tarpley and Lenward Tarpley.

The family will receive friends at the residence. Family visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 7-8 PM from Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of Fisher and Watkins Funeral Home with Rev. William Henry Tarpley officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
