Wilburn H. Adams, 67, of rural Decatur passed way December 10, 2009 at Adams Memorial Hospital. Wilburn was born on February 26, 1942 in Nectar, Alabama to the late Grady & Vida (Marsh) Adams. On November 16, 1962 he married Linda Toney.
Survivors include his wife Linda Adams of Decatur; 2 sons Kerry (Karrel) Adams of Willshire, OH and Tim (Kristy) Adams of Decatur; 3 brothers Bill Adams of Cleveland, AL, Henry Adams, Rodger Adams and step brother Ralph Halmark all of Hayden, AL; 2 sisters Katherine McNally of Cleveland, AL and Eunice Adams of Atlanta, GA; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is preceded in death by a son, a brother Eldridge Adams and a step sister Betty Maddox.
Wilburn attended St. Mark's United Methodist Church. He was a former President of Pleasant Mills Lions Club and a member of the Good Sams Camping Club. He also worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Dutton Trucking and also worked for Don Ray Drive Away.
All visitations and funeral services will be held in Decatur, Indiana. Visitation will be from 11-5 pm Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home in Decatur, IN. Funeral services will also be at the funeral home on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 in Nectar Cemetery in Nectar, Alabama.
Memorials are to Family Hospice & Palliative Care or Adams Memorial Hospital.
