Cynthia C. Scherer, age 57, of South Haven, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at the South Haven Community Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1956 in South Haven the daughter of Laurence and Janet (McCulloch) Beckwith and has lived in the South Haven and Bangor area all of her life. She was a member of the Bangor Church of Christ, Geneva Women's Club, a past member of the Bangor Arts Council, and volunteered with We-Care. She enjoyed playing pool and was a member of the VNA Valley Pool Association. Cynthia was a very artistic person who loved to draw and paint. She loved her dog Dobet.
Surviving are her husband, Mark whom she married in 1981; 3 sons, Jason C. Scherer of South Haven, Brian A. Scherer of Norfolk, VA, David M. (Jessica) Scherer of South Haven; 2 grandchildren, Christian, Zeriah; mother, Janet Beckwith; a brother, Richard (Linda) Beckwith of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Laurence Beckwith; sister, Kathryn Booth; brother Michael Beckwith.
The family will meet friends 6-8 PM Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home where the funeral will be 11:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Jeramiah Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Monks Cemetery Geneva Township. The family suggests memorials be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan or to the American Diabetes Foundation.
