Clara Scheele Henderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Scheele, was born in Clinton County, near Carlyle, Ill., December 12, 1889, and died at Springfield hospital, Tuesday morning, November 15, at 4:10, at the age of 42 years and 8 days.
She moved with her parents to a farm four miles north of Waverly, where she resided until her marriage to Robert C. Henderson in 1915, since which time she has lived in this city. One daughter, Marian Fay, was born to this union.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, one daughter, her parents, one sister, Mrs. Zelda Boston of New Berlin, also nephews and one niece, and a host of friends.
Mrs. Henderson united with the First M. E. church in this city in 1916, and has always been a faithful member. She was also an active member of Waverly Rebekah lodge No. 93. Although she had been in poor health in late years, she bore her burden bravely to the end. She was a devoted wife and a kind and loving mother.
Funeral services were held at the First M. E. church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, in charge of the pastor, Rev. D. H. Abbott.
Burial was in Waverly cemetery.
