Jack Dennis Roberts, age 80, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at his home in Ardmore. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 2013, in Rose Hill Cemetery with Robert Gill officiating.

Jack was born March 7, 1933, in Tecumseh, Okla., to Charles Franklin Roberts and Nettie (Boling) Roberts. He married Barbara Jean Crownover on June 1, 1957, in Ardmore.

Jack served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1954, during the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge April 30, 1967, at Ft. Ord, California. He then transferred to the Army Reserve. Jack received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. While in the service, Jack became the Staff Sergeant, Section Leader of the 21st A.A.A. He worked for Baker-Hughes in Oklahoma City for 19 years. Before his health failed, he owned his own business, Roberts Turbulater Company, in Oklahoma City. He attended school in Ardmore at Franklin Elementary and Jr. High at Ardmore. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed woodworking, canning vegetables from his garden and was a "Find a Grave" contributor. Most of all, he loved being at home with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Edith Gill and Verna Lee Hambrick, infant sister, Odie May Roberts and Willie Belle Mapp Brown; three brothers, Verden L. Roberts and Dan F. Roberts, and infant brother, Lloyd R. Roberts; and one daughter, Jacqueline Diane Roberts.

Jack is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; daughters, Pamela Denise Melendez of Moore, Okla., and Tammie Jean Murdoch of Oklahoma City; grandsons, Austin Marc Melendez and Dustin Anthony Melendez, both of Oklahoma City; brother, Andrew M. Roberts of Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.

Family visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013, at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore, Okla.
