Mrs. Carrie Bell Dodd, a long time resident of Waverly, died Tuesday, May 31, at 2:50 p.m., at Passavant hospital, Jacksonville, at the age of 84 years. She had been a patient at the hospital for about three weeks.
Deceased was born in the Hartland neighborhood near Franklin, September 5, 1875, a daughter of the late George and Kate Bourland Austif.
She was married on December 14, 1897 to Henry Dodd, who preceded her in death in 1937.
She is survived by a brother, Verne Austif, of Waverly; three sisters, Susie Austif and Mrs. Della Brown, of Frankin; a foster daughter, Mrs. Lowell Pitchford and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Frank Paluska, both of Waverly; and 11 grandchildren.
A foster daughter, Mrs. Letha Edgemon and a stepson, Olin Dodd, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Neece Funeral Home in this city Friday, June 3, at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Howard Fisher, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating.
Burial will be in East cemetery.
