Marietta Lorene Burton Crawford, age 80, was born on December 14, 1932, and passed from this life to the next on March 25, 2013, at her home in Cross Timbers, Missouri. She was the sixth child born to Lawrence and Lula Mae Bennett Burton, at Edwards, MO.

Marietta graduated from Cross Timbers High School with the class of 1950. She looked forward to her high school reunions every summer and kept in touch with many of her classmates and treasured their friendship.

Marietta married John Junior Crawford on March 29, 1953 and they made their home north of Cross Timbers where she still resided at the time of her death. She enjoyed being a full time mother and supported John, and later her son, Sam, in their auction business.

Marietta and John lovingly raised their children on the farm and taught them responsibility, respect and to honor God. When that didn't work, they (mostly Marietta) used a yard stick to adjust attitudes.

Marietta was saved and joined the Cross Timbers Methodist Church with her parents. She was a life-long, active and faithful member of the church and at the time of her passing was the oldest living member. Her faith was a witness of her love and willingness to serve her Lord and Savior to her husband, her children, neighbors and friends.

Marietta is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren: Sam Crawford of Cross Timbers, and his sons, Chase and Chance Crawford; Cheryl Foltz, and her husband, Ben, of Lebanon, and their children, Jennifer Storie and Jordan Foltz; Cindy Downing, and her husband, Jack, of Warsaw, and her sons, Cody and Jody Phillips; Janie Wooldridge, and her husband, Gary, of Fox River Grove, Illinois, and their daughters, Caitlin and Paige Wooldridge; Becky Taylor, and her husband, Neal, of Bolivar, and their children, Serena Howell and Jared Taylor, a step-son, Rick Snider and his wife, Kathy, of Buffalo, a brother, Marvin Burton of California and a sister, Elsie Foster, of Strafford, MO.

Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, John, on March 24, 1999, her parents, two brothers, Sylvester and Edsel Burton and one sister, Sylvia Admire.

Funeral services for Marietta Crawford will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Cross Timbers Methodist Church with Rev. Kent Parson and Rev. Josh Ritzemheimer officiating. Burial will be in the Cross Timbers Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, March 28, 2013, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cross Timbers Methodist Church in care of the Reser Funeral Home.
