Francis E. LaBarge, 73, of 300 Bayshore Ave., Mobile, Alabama, formerly of Tupper Lake, died about2:30 p.m. Friday in a Mobile hospital. A Mass of the resurrection was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holv Name. Church and interment was in Holy Name Cemetery here. He was born at Derrick March 10, 1904, the son of Frank and Rose Anna LaDue LaBarge. The family moved to Tupper Lake in his boyhood and he attended the local schools before entering the employ of Oval Wood Dish coporation here in 1922, continuing with the company until 1940 when he entered U.S. government service as a material inspector at Pine Camp (now Camp Drum). He served in that capacity at various government bases and for General Electric Co. in Syracuse until 1943, when he joined the staff of Gierston Tool Co. of Elmira, wholesale industrial distributors, becoming manager of the Buffalobranch office. In 1948 he formed the LaBarge & McRim Co. in Buffalo, wholesale industrial cutting tool business. Mr. LaBarge sold his interest to his partner in 1951 and moved to Mobile, Ala., where he was active in the insurance business until his retirement in 1962, for reasons of health. His first wife, the former Julia Girard of this village, died in 1939. Surviving are his second wife, the former Irene Goode of Mobile, Ala.; three daughters: Mrs. William (Jeanne Anne) Clqugh of Albany, Mrs. Joseph (Noreen) Cerio of Daytona Beach, Fla. and Mrs. Donald (Elizabeth) Bates of , Pittsburgh; his only son, Lt. Francis J. (Jack) La- Barge was killed in action in Korea Sept. 2. 1950. Surviving also are eight sisters: Mrs. Lee (Mildred) Oldfield, Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Smith, Mrs. Francis (Dorothy) Corneau and Mrs. Paul (Corrine) Corneau, all of Tupper Lake; Mrs. Ernest (Lillian) David of Hinckley, N.Y.; Mrs. Howard (Clara) Cotton of Rotterdam Jet., Mrs. Lawrence (Anne) Brown of Mobile, Ala. and Mrs. Robert (Theresa) LaRocque of Schuylerville; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Don Metier of Clearwater, Fla., and 10 grandchildren. A brother, Harry LaBarge, died in 1969.
