HUMPHREY - Bertha C. Wiese, 90, of Columbus, formerly of Lindsay, died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay with the Rev. James F. Novotny officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 4-8:30 p.m. Wednesday with scripture and rosary at 7:30 p.m. and resume 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday all at the church.
Mrs. Wiese was born Nov. 14, 1912, to Bernard and Dora B. (Brandl) Wegener at rural Cornlea. She attended Sacred Heart School in Cornlea.
She married Leo A. Wiese on Feb. 24, 1941, at Cornlea.
She was a lifetime resident of the Lindsay and Cornlea communities before becoming a resident of Cottonwood Homes in August 1998. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
She was a member of the church and the Holy Family Ladies Guild, and various card clubs. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Ron) Zegar of Columbus and Bonnie (Virgil) Reichmuth of Lindsay; two sons, Glenn (Mary Ellen) Wiese and Gary (Linda) Wiese, both of Lindsay; two sisters, Gladys (Eugene) Pfeifer of Humphrey and Colette (Elvin) Beierman of Albion; three brothers, Earl (Helen) Wegener, Emmert (Rita) Wegener and Mylen (Loretta) Wegener, all of Humphrey; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 9, 1972; a brother, Leander Wiese; and two grandchildren.
