Ralph S. Todd was born March 10, 1892, in Peoria County, Illinois. He died November 26, 1980 at Lindsborg, Kansas.Ralph came with his family from Illinois to Kansas at the age of seven. The trip was made in two covered wagons to a farm on the southeast edge of what was then Salina. After graduation from Salina High School in 1914, he taught in a country school and later became an instructor at Gypsum High School. He served in World War I in France and then he returned to the family farm of his wife, Verna Perrill; she was a student of his when he taught at Gypsum. In 1933 he established the Todd Funeral Home in Minneapolis and operated it until 1947 when he retired to the Perrill farm near Bridgeport. Mr. Todd was a a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Salina and the American Legion. Survivors included his wife, Verna; two daughters, Mrs. Eloise Baughman and Mrs. Harriet Dindinger; a sister, Mrs. Lillian Bell; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
