Halbrook, a native of Tennessee, was a longtime resident of Bayou La Batre prior to entering the health care facility.
He was member of the Charles Haynes Masonic Lodge in Bayou La Batre.
Survivors include five children, Gladys Marie Halbrook of Trenton, Tenn., Martha H. Smith of Selma, James E. Halbrook of Florida, Robert L. Halbrook of Millington, Tenn., and Eddy Mayo Halbrook of Mobile; one brother, Leonard E. Halbrook of Ripley, Tenn.; two sisters, Maurene Hendricks of Paris, Tenn., and Peggy Anderson of Bayou La Batre; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until the noon service at Serenity Funeral Home on Old Pascagoula Road in Theodore. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre.
