Anna was born in Canada to Albert Harry Compton and Mary Robinson Coates Compton.

Anna was a sister to Edith Elizabeth Compton Morgan. Upon her sister Edith's death, she became the fourth wife to Samuel McClure Morgan.

She and Samuel had two known children. one daughter Gladys N Morgan (1904-1980) and an unknown child. In the 1910 Census Record, Anna indicated that she had given birth to two children and only one was living.
