Mr. McFadden was born in Sterling, the son of Henry W. and Ann Murray McFadden, and had lived here all his life. He married the former Ann Kohl Oct. 28, 1920 in Sterling. At the outbreak of World War I, he was the first Sterling resident to enlist in the armed forces. He had been employed by the Russell, Burdsall, and Ward Company since 1910.
Surviving are his widow; a brother, Reginald McFadden, and two sisters, including Mrs. A. J. Van DeMark.
