Lee Carson, 97, lifetime resident of the Waverly rural community, passed away Thursday night, May 28, at Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville where he had been a patient for about two weeks.
He was born January 23, 1867 the son of William and Minerva Workman Carson, and lived his entire lifetime on the farm where he was born.
He was married to Elizabeth Ann Maginn on December 4, 1901 who preceded him in death on October 23, of 1963.
Survivors include five daughters, Inez Dodd of Loami; Edna Fisher of Champaign; Erma Gibson and Rachel Caruthers, both of Waverly and Elizabeth Mader of Asbury Park, N.J.; one son, William of Waverly; 13 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Loami Methodist Church with Rev. Henry Farrington officiating.
Burial was in Waverly East Cemetery.
