Services for Marion Wakefield, 74 of Blair who died at his residence December 7, 1994 were Saturday, December 10 at Campbell Aman Funeral Home. Military graveside services were held in the Blair Cemetery.
Marion T. Wakefield was born January 31, 1920 at Lillian, Nebraska to Tom and Jennie Cunningham Wakefield. In 1925, he moved to Herman, Nebraska with his parents where he attended school and graduated from Herman High School in 1937.
In February of 1942 he entered the Army and served during World War II being discharged at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas in December, 1945.
On March 17, 1943 he married Barbara Gibbons. She preceded him in death in August 1974.
On January 26, 1976 he married Jean Lesnet.
He lived and farmed his entire life in the Herman and Blair area, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Herman Baptist Church and the Blair American Legion.
Surviving him is his wife, Jean; three children; Tom Wakefield, Kennard; Cheryl Meier of Omaha, and John Wakefield of Elkhorn, Nebraska; three stepchildren, Barbara Milner, Kansas City, Missouri; Rita Sinos, Papillion, Nebraska and Michaael Lesnet, Chicago, Illinois; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Roy and Warren.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
