Passed away Thursday evening Feb. 28, 1974, at Veterans Administration Hospital following a brief illness. Age 77. He was born on June 1, 1896, in Bernside, Mich., and spent most of his life in Bay City, coming to Saginaw eight years ago. He married Edna L. Baker in Bay City in 1966. She survives him. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Wenonah Lodge 256 F and AM, Bay City, the Bay City Consistory and the Bay City Odd Fellows Lodge. He was employed for many years by the New York Central Railroad. Besides his wife, he is survived by four stepchildren. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, a sister and a brother. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Reitz Funeral Home. The Elder Ezra Bennett will officiate with burial in Oakridge Cemetery, Bay City. Those who so desire may give memorials to the American Cancer Society. A Masonic memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday by the Wenonah Lodge 256 A and FM, Bay City, at the funeral home.
