Johnson Rites Set
Mrs. Carrell R. Johnson, 82, former rural school teacher, died at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday at Parkview Care Center where she had been admitted Monday. She had been in failing health for some time.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. David Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Aletha Johnson was born June 22, 1892, in Van Buren Couty, the daughter of Frank and Emma Slutz (sic. Slutts) Ramsey. She was reared and educated in Van Buren Co., and taught school in Jefferson and Van Buren Counties (sic). She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church.
She was united in marriage Feb. 1, 1913, in Ottumwa to Carrell Johnson who survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Johnson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Walker, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Opal Shinn, Denver, Colo.
The family would appreciate memorials to the Antioch Church. The family home is at 404 E. Washington.
